Meet our founder:
Geta Rasciuc
Geta is a mother of four, and an accredited baby wearing professional.
When her first son was born in 2005, she tried many different styles and designs of carriers, but was not satisfied with the support and comfort they offered her and her baby. She found her baby would always hang too low, and she often got back pain as a result. This prompted the birth of Babymoon Care. Geta had the vision and capability to design a new style of carrier so other mothers could avoid the experiences she had. In developing her own style, Geta took inspiration from the century's old, tried and tested, wraps and more modern day Asian lightweight carriers to develop a solution that brings the benefits of both together.
Geta is passionate about the role of baby wearing in encouraging bonding and attachment in the first 1000 days of life.
There is a large body of evidence that supports baby wearing as a means to secure skin to skin connection between a carer and an infant that is vital for not only nurturing emotional, physical, social and cognitive development, but it is a life-saving tool for many infants in areas with poor access to healthcare.
This need prompted Geta to partner with NGOs to use Babymoon carriers to facilitate skin to skin care as an alternative to incubators in low resource areas. Geta also extend beyond the original carrier to design a version that enables vital signs monitoring for those most in need, to provide healthcare professionals with health data, whilst not interrupting the vital skin to skin connection.
THE JOURNEY IS JUST STARTING FOR THE BABYMOON CARE TEAM, AND WE ARE EXCITED ABOUT WHAT IS TO COME!
